Why do we do what we do?

Goal: We are dedicated to honoring the Action Film Industry. It is the Austin Action Fest’s goal to bring filmmakers and audiences a high level entertaining experiences unlike any other; one that not only rewards, honors and celebrates Action Artists but also embraces, educates, empowers and advances careers for these artists. We celebrate the little guy and the bigs alike. Everyone deserves a foot in the door.

To be true to Texas, and especially Austin, Texas, the independent film maker is golden. It is the Austin Action Fest’s hope that it will enhance the visibility and recognition to an undervalued segment of the creative community by helping lay a foundation for new and upcoming action filmmakers, further the careers of more established action professionals, energize and inspire its patrons, and make Austin an Action film epicenter for years to come.

Why is it important to me?

Here’s what we would like you to consider. You probably have friends that are making movies and have the greatest of intentions to show they’re creations to the world. Let me ask you, how many of them have their work distributed? Let’s work together to build business pathways for a new level of growth. The filmmakers, distributors, producers, actors, etc. you will meet are tenaciously generating interest to get business done or get their products in the faces of someone to see. Once you are a part of AAF, you are a part of the AAF family. We are here to build film business legacies and quality relationships.

Is the Austin Action Fest only for producers of films?

No. If you love creating or viewing action films, this is the place to be.

Does The Austin Action Fest Distribute Films?

AAF engages in building relationships with exemplary distribution partners. Not all film makers have the access, budgets, partnerships, knowledge or time to dedicate to bring their film to market but would like their films on various streaming stages. AAF’s distribution arm has the knowledge and network to negotiate with you and to help the little guy be seen.

Does The Austin Action Fest Produce Films?

Yes, Austin Action Fest loves making films. AAF may create it’s own original content, partner with production companies or writers that meet AAF mission criteria coming together or negotiating to produce films under the AAF umbrella.

What Makes You Different From Other Festivals That Feature Distrubitors?

We are ONLY focused on the Action Film genre.

Let’s talk facts.

Here’s the facts. Action films were some of the top grossing films the last few years. Action Films have never been the boring part of the entertainment industry. From Bruce Lee to Bruce Willis to Keanu Reeves, action films have always commanded the attention of the viewer. Sometimes viewer attention does not translate to financial gains because of the huge budget outlays to produce some of these films. The ROI is usually lower on larger budgeted productions. What we at AAF know, is that it’s the smaller budget productions that deliver the higher ROI. While not ignoring the bigger production opportunities, AAF wants to place more of its energy on the smaller budget quality productions that offer a higher ROI which is an incentive for more distributor relationships.
